How to Listen to Audiobooks for Free
Some of you are readers, which is wonderful.
I'm not.
I mean, I read because I need to, not usually because I want to.
And maybe you're in the same boat.
But reading is important, because I want to keep learning and growing (my mind, not my waistline).
So, years ago I started listening to audiobooks when I could find them for a reasonable price or borrow from a friend.
I even subscribed to Audible for awhile, but eventually I didn't find I was getting enough value from it and cancelled it.
Then my wife (thank you, babe!) informed me that our local public library system offered access to audiobooks through two digital services, Hoopla and Libby.
Be aware though: not every public library system has access to these services, so you will need to check with your local library to find out.
But for me, this was a gamechanger, because now I am able to listen to incredibly valuable books for free while I'm taking a walk, going for a run or a bike ride, or just relaxing with my eyes closed! I went from consuming almost zero books every year to listening to 10-15 per year, which is now my standing expectation.
