Science & Tech
News flash: Science and technology have progressed at an astounding rate over the past ~150 years of human history!
Oh, wait. You already knew that, as you are likely reading this on a computer or smartphone while accessing the internet.
You are probably sitting in a electrified home, building, or vehicle, and technology surrounds you.
Perhaps you are using medicines or supplements to help your body/mind become or stay healthy.
And maybe you're even aware of recent advances in artificial intelligence, space travel, genetic medicines, personalized medical care, or understanding the deeper realities of quantum physics.

So, I don't need to convince you of the importance of Science & technology; but I can at least explain why there's a whole page dedicated to it on this site.
Science
Science means "knowledge." In particular, science is the pursuit of new knowledge, the understanding and integration of existing knowledge, and the discipline of distinguishing between what can and cannot be defined by scientific principles and processes.
Why do I care about Science?
The earliest age I remember having a special interest in Science was around 10 or 11. I was watching some videos about the electromagnetic spectrum, and I was bedazzled by the concept that everything we see (visible light spectra) is confined to a narrow band of wavelengths on the larger spectrum of electromagnetic radiation!
I wanted to know more!
I've spent the last few decades trying to find more amazing things to learn about and utilize for my benefit and the benefit of others.
Along the way, I decided to specialize in Biological, Chemical, and Biomedical Sciences, so my undergraduate and graduate degrees are both in those fields of study. My Ph.D. is in Biomedical Sciences with an emphasis in Oncology (breast cancer). From there, I went on to study pediatric cancers (medulloblastoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, leukemia, etc.), and later I transitioned into biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
How will this site cover/discuss Science?
Recognizing that Science has limits (more than some scientists like to admit), I hope to provide a balanced perspective about scientific topics (that I'm capable of evaluating) and address what it does and does not mean for you and me.
My goal is to integrate scientific topics and ideas into other aspects of life, such as faith, family, lifestyle, etc.; because Science ("knowledge") really doesn't have boundaries inside of just one classroom. Science dictates the causes and effects of every physical thing in the universe!
If you are working on an engine--Science (physics, chemistry, thermodynamics).
If you are exercising to lose weight--Science (anatomy & physiology).
If you are struggling with emotional issues or addiction--Science (neuroscience, biology, genetics, biochemistry).
You get the idea.
Science doesn't live in a bubble (like it does at school), and my hope is to provide useful insights on how Science intersects with and influences the other facets of life.
Technology
Another definition for "technology" is "applied Science." So, the two are inextricable.
Technologies I am most familiar with are either lifestyle-based (cell phones, computers, internet, WiFi, home appliances, tools, software, vehicles, wearables, etc.) or career-based (cell and molecular biology techniques, microscopy, manufacturing technologies, bioreactors, purifications systems, etc.).
This site will focus mostly on the lifestyle-based technologies, but every now and then you may see something that overlaps with my professional career.
